The opening night of Coachella 2023 featured a historic performance by Bad Bunny, who became the first Spanish-language artist to headline the festival. The Latin Grammy winner appeared in a colorful plaid coat and performed on a suspended stage in front of a massive crowd. He kicked off his set with his 2022 single “Tití Me Preguntó” and went on to perform other popular songs such as “I Like It” and “Si Veo a Tu Mamá.”
Bad Bunny spoke predominantly in Spanish and used short documentary interludes to pay respect to the origins of music styles that inspired him. The only setback was when he invited Post Malone to perform a duet, but technical difficulties with Post’s guitar caused issues. Despite the glitch, the two artists tried to improvise, but the microphone amplifying Post Malone’s guitar failed. They then improvised an Acapella version of Yonaguni.
Post Malone left the stage, and Bad Bunny finished his set without any further technical issues. The Latin artist closed out the first night of Coachella 2023 with a spectacular fireworks display.
Blackpink made history as the first K-pop act to headline Coachella in 2019, and once again, they took center stage at this year’s festival. Their high-energy performance included pyrotechnics and a blend of English and Korean songs.
Bad Bunny also made history, becoming the first Spanish-language artist to headline Coachella the night before. Despite technical difficulties, his set included a special guest appearance by Post Malone. The crowd overwhelmingly preferred Spanish over English.
Other notable performers at this year’s festival included Calvin Harris, Metro Boomin, and Blink182. BTS’s Jungkook was reportedly spotted at the festival, and Diljit Dosanjh became the first Punjabi singer to perform at Coachella.
Frank Ocean’s highly anticipated headlining set at Coachella will not be available for streaming online. Only those attending Coachella will be able to watch his performance, according to YouTube, who has confirmed that Ocean will not appear on their livestream service.
This is Ocean’s first performance in six years, and fans are eager to see what he has in store. Unfortunately, for those who can’t attend the festival in person, they’ll have to wait for fan-shot footage instead.
Besides Frank Ocean, Björk’s livestream from Coachella has also been pulled from its streaming schedule. Kali Uchis is currently the last performer on the Coachella main stage to receive a livestream.
Coachella is an annual music and arts festival held in Indio, California. The festival features both established and emerging artists and attracts music lovers from all over the world. There is no age limit rule for the festival; however, camping is only available for those 18 and above.
Ticket pricing ranges from general admission starting at $429 to VIP experiences costing thousands. For those unable to attend in person, there are always livestreams available on YouTube.

From Bad Bunny becoming the first-ever Spanish-language artist to headline Coachella to Blackpink being the first K-pop act to top the bill at this iconic festival. Frank Ocean’s long-awaited performance also added another level of excitement to the mix.
