The Academy of Country Music Awards is returning to Texas for the first time since the 50th ACM Awards in 2015. The 58th ACM Awards will take place on May 11 at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The country music icons Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks have been announced as co-hosts for the ceremony, which will be streamed live on Prime Video globally. In this year’s ACM Awards, fans can expect to see performances and collaborations from country music’s biggest stars and emerging talents.
The 58th Academy of Country Music Awards is set to be one of the biggest events in country music history. It is the first major awards ceremony that will exclusively live stream in partnership with Prime Video. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a limited number of tickets are available for purchase on SeatGeek for fans who want to attend the event in person.
The Topgolf fundraiser for ACM Lifting Lives will be held on May 10 in The Colony, Texas. The concert following the fundraiser will feature performances by Morgan Wallen & Friends, HARDY, Lainey Wilson, ERNEST, Bailey Zimmerman, and DJ 13lackbeard. This year’s ACM Awards nominees, performers, and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.
Damon Whiteside, CEO of the Academy of Country Music and executive producer of the ACM Awards said that this year’s co-host pairing is fitting for “music’s most iconic global superstars.” Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton have a combined total of 35 ACM Awards wins.
Parton hosted the ACM Awards solo in 2000 and with Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett last year. Brooks’ exclusive streaming deal with Amazon Music was one of the reasons for his decision to co-host the show. Although fans should not expect a musical collaboration during the ACM Awards, both Brooks and Parton displayed an easygoing banter that should serve them well on awards night during the promotional video shoot.
Brooks’ appearance as co-host of the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards marks his first time hosting an awards show. He expressed excitement at working with Parton and hopes to represent country music well.
Parton also revealed that fans will get a sneak peek at her new music during the show, including her lead single from her upcoming rock album titled “Rock Star.” With their admiration and respect for each other, fans may see a return Parton-Brooks pairing as ACM Awards co-hosts in 2024.
