Kelly Ripa’s children may be following in the footsteps of their famous parents as they express interest in co-hosting duties for Live, the long-running morning show that Kelly Ripa has co-hosted since 2001. Mark Consuelos, Kelly’s husband, has already joined her as a co-host, and it appears that their children are considering doing the same.
Michael, the eldest of Kelly and Mark’s three children at 25 years old, is considered the most likely to try his hand at co-hosting. He has expressed admiration for the work his parents do on Live and seems keen to join them. Lola, their daughter, has also expressed interest in co-hosting. Although Joaquin, their youngest son, is more reserved and may need some convincing to join in on the fun. However, Joaquin has already done cooking segments on the show and was paid union scale while he was a college student.
Kelly and Mark have been open about their personal lives with fans of their hit show. However, they have ensured that their children’s privacy is protected from prying eyes. They have blocked news channels from sharing private details about their children and avoided mentioning them by name on social media so they can enjoy some degree of anonymity.
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos first met during Mark’s audition to star in All My Children in 1995. The purpose of the auditions was to find a love interest for Kelly’s character. They started dating shortly after meeting each other and tied the knot in May 1996. The couple will celebrate 25 years of marriage this year.
They have been candid about their sex life and even revealed they engaged in “sexual rituals” over FaceTime during the ten months Mark was away filming in 2020. Despite exposing intimate details of their relationship, they have managed to keep their children out of the limelight.
Michael, Lola and Joaquin are now grown up and carving their way in the world. Michael is striving to follow in his parents’ footsteps by making a career in the film industry while Lola is an aspiring singer currently spending some time abroad in London. Joaquin is studying at the University of Michigan and has also built a muscular physique for wrestling.
Despite their varied interests, all three have expressed interest in taking over hosting duties on Live!. Michael is particularly keen to take over and talks about it constantly; he’s convinced he would be perfect for the job. Lola is also showing an interest, but Joaquin may need some persuasion, as his focus now is primarily on college life.
Kelly believes that Joaquin only did cooking segments on the show to earn union pay scale as a college student. But Mark is excited to take over hosting duties and work with Kelly, who he considers one of the best in the business.
The Ripa-Consuelos family has proven to be a tight-knit unit with a strong bond that’s grown since they first met in 1995. They’ve managed to keep many aspects of their family life private despite being famous, which has helped support their children’s privacy while they grow into adulthood.
As Michael, Lola, and Joaquin continue to find themselves professionally, it will be interesting to see how far they’ll pursue their interest in co-hosting duties on Live! alongside their beloved parents.
