Acura Reveals 320 Horsepower Integra Type S in Final Production Form

Acura has revealed the final production form of the highly anticipated 2024 Integra Type S. The sports compact car is set to go on sale in the U.S. this June, and Acura fans are eagerly waiting to get behind the wheel of this impressive vehicle.

Performance Features

The Integra Type S boasts a turbocharged 2.0liter inline-four engine, producing an impressive 320 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The Type S shares the engine with the Honda Civic Type R hatchback, but has been upgraded with its own unique settings for its adaptive damping system to give it its own character.

The Type S has a sixspeed manual transmission with a rev-matching function and a standard limited-slip differential. It also has wider front and rear tracks, a dualaxis front suspension setup, and adaptive dampers which contribute to its impressive performance.

To further enhance its performance features, the Type S has upgraded brakes with larger rotors and lightweight 19inch wheels wrapped in 265-series Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires.

Design Features

While borrowing many ingredients from the Honda Civic Type R hatchback, the Type S has toned down looks compared to it. Nonetheless, the Integra still retains an aggressive stance with widened fenders that give it a signature look.

Inside, the front seats have extra bolstering and are trimmed in a leather and suede upholstery combination available in red, black or white. The cabin is built for highG comfort, with more substantial bolsters to lock driver and passenger in place through sharp corners.

The Type S also offers some features that are not available on the Civic Type R, such as a headup display and a 16-speaker ELS audio system. The car also includes a 9.0-inch touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.

Price and Release Date

The Acura Integra Type S is priced at around $50,000, though the manufacturer has not released its official price at this time. The highly anticipated car is expected to go on sale in June of this year. The Integra Type S will be built at Acura’s Marysville, Ohio plant and will be available in both manual and automatic transmission versions.

Acura Integra Type S vs. Honda Civic Type R

The Integra Type S is being tagged as a twin of the new Honda Civic Type R, with five more horsepower from its 2.0liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. However, the chassis of the Integra Type S is very similar to the Type R’s platform, but with unique settings for its adaptive damping system to give it a character of its own.

The exterior of the Integra Type S has unique flares, a more open front fascia and vented hood, as well as a distinct rear bumper which make it stand out from its sibling. The interior looks much like an Integra ASpec but with some extra performance touches and better quality materials.

Overall, the Acura Integra Type S seems like an impressive offering to those looking for a vehicle that seamlessly blends performance with practicality. The car promises to deliver an excellent driving experience with an enticing look that will appeal to auto enthusiasts.
