Barcelona Manager Xavi Previews Getafe Match and Discusses Future Plans

FC Barcelona’s manager, Xavi, held a press conference today to preview his team’s upcoming La Liga match against Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez stadium in Madrid. The match will take place on April 16, 2023, at 4.15 pm CET (Barcelona time) and will be aired on various TV channels and online platforms. Xavi discussed his team’s preparation for the challenging encounter against Getafe, their prospects of securing the league title, and their commitment to sustainability.

Tough Match Ahead Against Getafe

Getafe is known for their aggressive playstyle and can pose a significant challenge to Barcelona. However, Xavi believes that his team is well-prepared for the match and has the talent to come out victorious. He stated, “We know that Getafe is a tough opponent, but we have studied their tactics and players. We are focused on winning the match and getting three points towards our title campaign.”

Winning La Liga is the Main Goal

Xavi has made it clear that winning the La Liga title is his main goal for this season. With ten games remaining in the campaign, Barcelona is poised to win the league; however, they cannot afford to slip up now. Xavi stated, “We have a good position in the league table, but we cannot relax now. Each game is vital for us, and we need to stay focused until the end of the season.”

No Time for Experiments

Xavi acknowledged that he might consider giving young talents a chance to prove themselves in some games; however, winning the league title remains his priority for this season. He added that it’s not time for experiments as each match is crucial in securing Barcelona’s place at the top of the table.

Important Players Out but Squad Depth is Strong

Barcelona will be without the services of injured players Pedri and Dembele for the Getafe match; however, Xavi has faith in his squad depth. He said, “We have a talented squad with many players who can step up when needed. We cannot risk anything with Pedri and Dembele’s injuries, but we have a great team to compete in their absence.”

Planning Ahead

Xavi is happy with the performances of his defenders playing at the right-back position and is already planning ahead for next season. He stated that they would make decisions after winning the league title. Xavi also admitted that the club is in talks with him about a new contract, but they need to focus on this season for now.

Sustainable Development is Key

On a broader note, Xavi reiterated FC Barcelona’s commitment to sustainability and promoting sustainable development. The club has recently received two Biosphere certifications, acknowledging their responsibility to society and the environment. In line with their commitment to SDG 7 on affordable and non-polluting energy, Barcelona will use trains instead of air travel to get to away games this season. Rail travel between Barcelona and Madrid is the most sustainable option for them.

Good News for Fans

Fans of Barcelona will have the chance to watch their team in action against Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez stadium in Madrid with exciting news from commentators announcing that people can open comments section when the team news goes public. They have also announced thread rules for viewers, including avoiding swearing and not discussing illegal streaming links while being nice to each other.

In conclusion, Xavi is optimistic about his team’s chances against Getafe despite missing some key players due to injury. He believes that winning the La Liga title is achievable with ten games remaining in the campaign. Barcelona’s commitment to sustainable development is also commendable and aligns with the club’s values towards being responsible to society and the environment. Fans will be excited to watch the upcoming match, and Xavi’s tactical approach will be crucial in ensuring Barcelona’s victory.
