Bayley’s emotional return at WrestleMania 39

Bayley, the former GrandSlam Champion and leader of DAMAGE CTRL, is set to make an emotional return at WrestleMania 39 after missing the last two editions of the event due to injury. Bayley also talked about her close friend Mercedes Moné, who is no longer with WWE but is successfully carving out a new path on her own. Bayley expressed admiration for Moné’s drive and passion for wrestling outside of the WWE banner. She also noted that Moné’s success serves as an inspiration to other wrestlers to realize that they can still be successful outside of the WWE.

“Mercedes is doing amazing things outside of WWE,” said Bayley. “I miss her, but I am so proud of her for living her dream and being successful on her terms. She’s truly inspiring.”

Bayley describes WrestleMania 39 as a romance novel

At WrestleMania 39, Bayley will take part in a six-woman tag team match alongside Becky Lynch, Lita, Trish Stratus, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY against Women’s Tag Team Champions Becky Lynch & Lita, who are joined by Trish Stratus. Bayley compared tonight’s match to a romance novel.

“WrestleMania is like a love story,” said Bayley. “It has all the emotions – the ups and downs, the heartbreaks, the love and passion – everything that makes a good romance novel. And tonight, it’s going to be a different kind of love story.”

Bayley talks about her bond with former tag team partner Sasha Banks and her hopes for her return to WWE

Bayley also talked about her close bond with Sasha Banks, her former tag team partner and friend. Bayley and Banks won Women’s Tag Team Titles in 2019, but the duo parted ways when Banks left WWE in May 2022. Bayley expressed hope that Sasha will return to WWE one day, but she is happy that her friend is pursuing her dreams outside of WWE’s banner.

“I miss having Sasha around,” said Bayley. “But I’m so happy for her because she’s following her craziest dreams, and she’s doing it successfully on her own terms. That’s inspiring to see.”

Bayley also noted that it would be a dream come true for Banks to wrestle against Trish Stratus at WrestleMania.

Bayley reminisces on past WrestleMania experiences

Bayley reminisced about her WrestleMania experiences from past years and how each event was a testament to a wrestler’s journey.

“WrestleMania is the one event that generates so much emotion, both in wrestlers and fans alike,” said Bayley. “Each year’s WrestleMania was different; it had different emotions, different feelings, and different challenges. But coming back now after those two years away, I’m excited to walk into WrestleMania 39 in front of 75,000+ people alongside two women that have walked similar paths.”

Bayley hopes for the return of Mercedes Moné and Sasha Banks

In conclusion, Bayley expressed hope for the return of both Mercedes Moné and Sasha Banks to WWE. She acknowledged that both of them were on their own paths but said that she missed having them around.

“I hope Mercedes comes back one day,” said Bayley. “She’s an amazing wrestler, and I miss having her around. And as for Sasha, I hope that she comes back to WWE soon or later. But if she doesn’t, that’s okay too. She’s pursuing her dreams, and I’m happy for her.”
