The Cleveland Cavaliers’ playoff appearance has been the talk of the town for the past few weeks. Fans are excited to see their favorite basketball team in action and have been gearing up for the 2023 NBA playoffs. With a series of events and activities slated for this period, both visitors and locals will have plenty of things to do in Akron, Ohio during the playoffs.
The Lebron James Family Foundation is hosting a watch party for game 1 of the 2023 NBA playoffs between the Cavs and the Knicks at House Three Thirty in Akron. Tower City will also host tailgate activities before Cavs home games during the 2023 playoffs. The Downtown Akron Sakura Festival will celebrate spring and the blossoming cherry blossom trees.
Visitors can take a walk on the Murch Canopy Walk at Holden Arboretum or participate in the Punk Rock Flea Market at Summit County Fairgrounds. The Akron Art Museum and Greater Cleveland Aquarium also have ongoing exhibits available to visit.
Hale Farm and Village is hosting its second Annual Native American Cultural Weekend with demonstrations and activities, while the Cleveland Botanical Garden presents House Plants! Display and sale. Furthermore, visitors can experience a unique exhibit featuring Disney films old and new at The Disney Immersive Experience.
To fire up fans in anticipation of the playoffs, banners promoting the Cavs’ NBA playoff appearances have been put up around Cleveland by the team. These signs can be seen in Tower City or on various billboards on both sides of Cleveland lining outdoor dining patios on East Fourth Street dining area.
Additionally, users of bus No.1 were treated with an unexpected surprise when they realized that their bus was sporting playoff signage across it. Employees from Agile Sign & Lighting and Brilliant Electric Sign Co. were responsible for hanging banners outside the entrance of Tower City and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
According to a press release from the Cavaliers, the signs and banners can be found at various locations in Downtown Cleveland, West Side, and East Side. The playoffs begin on Saturday against the New York Knicks.
The Cavs are hosting watch parties for road playoff games in New York, while fans in Cleveland can watch on a big screen at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Admission is $5 with proceeds supporting Habitat for Humanity.
In addition to showing the games, the watch parties include court entertainment, skills challenges, and player-introduction videos. All ticketed fans aged 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
To add to this year’s excitement, sports betting is now legal in Ohio. A list of sportsbooks where users can bet on their favorite teams was also provided in this article.
