Ex-Red Bull Driver Albon’s Childhood Admiration for Ferrari

Childhood Fanboy Reveals Love for Ferrari

Former Red Bull driver and current Williams representative, Alex Albon, has shared his childhood admiration for Ferrari with his followers on Instagram.

The British-Thai driver’s social media post featured a series of throwback photos. They included a custom Ferrari car and a Ferrari-themed bed from his childhood. The post confirmed Sebastian Vettel’s famous quote that “Everyone is a Ferrari fan.”

However, despite his childhood dreams of driving for the Italian team, Albon is committed to representing Williams in Formula 1. He was snapped up by the team as a replacement for George Russell and put on an impressive performance during his debut season.

Albon Shines for Williams

In his first race of the season with Williams, Alex Albon marked the team’s return to the points with a P10 finish at the Bahrain Grand Prix. His strong performance indicated that he had captured the requirements set out by Williams as a replacement.

Albon’s contribution aided the team’s climb from ninth to eighth place in the Constructors’ Championship. However, this impressive feat came too late to save their 2022 campaign.

Sargeant to Join Albon at Williams in 2023

For 2023, Logan Sargeant will partner Alex Albon at Williams. The young American driver will be the first from his country to race in Formula 1 since 2015.

Sargeant impressed during his junior career, finishing as runner-up in Formula 3 during the 2019 season before joining Williams as their reserve driver in 2022.

Together with Albon, Sargeant is tasked with helping Williams improve its standing in Formula 1 through hard work and dedication.

Vettel Retires Midway through Season

Sebastian Vettel, one of the sport’s biggest stars, announced his retirement midway through the 2022 season through his Instagram account.

The announcement marked a significant milestone in Vettel’s career, which saw him earn four consecutive world championships from 2010-2013. He also holds the record for being the youngest world champion ever.

Vettel placed his family as a priority, deciding to spend more time with them in his post-F1 life. He once again showed his humility and down-to-earth nature by thanking his fans and supporters for their unwavering support over the years.

Vettel’s Legacy

Sebastian Vettel has left an indelible mark on Formula 1, activism and advocacy. He has worked tirelessly towards issues such as racism, diversity, LGBTQ+ rights, and climate change during his F1 career.

During this time, he was a brand ambassador for Casio, Shell, Infiniti, and Pepe Jeans. The Puma brand signed him up as its ambassador in 2012 before Pepe Jeans followed suit in 2018.

Vettel’s net worth is enormous – $140 million – making him one of the top-earning drivers in the history of F1. His salary varied at different stages of his career, but he maintained an average annual salary of $36 million throughout it all.

His driving prowess has been hailed by many greats of the sport. Lewis Hamilton once said about him “I think he’s one of the greatest people we’ve seen in this sport and we need more like him.”

Vettel and Hamilton: Kindred Spirits

Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton are two of Formula 1’s most decorated drivers. Together they have won a combined total of 11 world titles. Yet it is their relationship off-track that has captivated the audience worldwide.

Throughout their careers, Hamilton and Vettel have displayed mutual respect towards each other. During the 2022 season, Vettel posted a throwback photo on social media from his Formula 3 days in 2005. The photo featured a young Hamilton and other drivers who later went on to race in F1.

Hamilton still races and hopes to win another world championship, thus extending his tally to eight. Nonetheless, he continues to support Vettel’s advocacy for climate change and other social issues through the hashtag “there is still a race to win.”

In conclusion, Alex Albon’s childhood admiration for Ferrari reiterates Sebastian Vettel’s famous quote that “Everyone is a Ferrari fan.” Meanwhile, Vettel’s retirement marks the end of an era for Formula 1. Finally, it is heartening to witness Hamilton and Vettel’s friendship off the track, showing that even in the cutthroat world of F1 racing, sportsmanship and mutual respect prevails.
