Julien Faubert suggests replacing David Moyes with Brendan Rodgers at West Ham United

Former West Ham United defender Julien Faubert has urged the club’s board to replace David Moyes with Brendan Rodgers as manager, following a series of lackluster performances by the team.

Faubert critical of Moyes’ performance

Faubert, who made 60 appearances for West Ham between 2007 and 2011, has been openly critical of Moyes in recent weeks, suggesting that the Scot should have been sacked after a series of uninspiring performances by the team.

According to Faubert, Moyes is lucky to still be in charge given the performances of the team over the last few months and the number of managers who have been sacked in the Premier League this season. He hopes that West Ham does not make the same mistake as they did when they appointed Avram Grant.

Favours Brendon Rodgers as a replacement

Instead, Faubert would like to see someone come in who is already associated with the club in some way, the likes of Graham Potter and Brendan Rodgers. The former Liverpool manager has a reputation for playing expansive, exciting and attacking football which suits West Ham supporters’ demands for entertainment and a more bold style of play.

Faubert thinks that Rodgers would be a great appointment for West Ham United due to his sustained success for years with Liverpool, Celtic, and Leicester City. Rodgers has nine trophies to his name during his time in football management, including two league titles.

Chances that Moyes will be replaced

While there have been few viable replacements for Moyes, doubts have crept in upstairs and the mood shifted after their recent agricultural performance at Fulham. The board reportedly is not impressed with West Ham’s style of play and there is a desire to try something new.

Despite adversity, however, Moyes has held firm as a manager and has not lost the dressing room. Furthermore, West Ham could still end the season on a high-note by winning their first silverware since 1980, which could ultimately save Moyes’ job.

Conclusion

While it remains to be seen if Brendan Rodgers would be interested in taking up the managerial post at West Ham United, his track record suggests that he may well be able to turn things around for the team. As for whether David Moyes should be given more time in charge or not, only time will tell.
