NFL Sunday Ticket Package Released with Multiple Pricing Options
YouTube is all set for the introduction of the NFL Sunday Ticket to its streaming platform, YouTube TV. The wait is over for football fans as YouTube finally announced the pricing structure of the package. The NFL Sunday Ticket is an out-of-market games package that offers access to various live games throughout the National Football League (NFL) regular season.
Starting from Tuesday, fans can sign up for the NFL Sunday Ticket via YouTube TV online streaming service ahead of the 2023 season. YouTube guarantees to offer greater simplicity and clarity in pricing than previous providers of the service.
Two Categories of Pricing Based on Subscription Preferences
There are two categories of pricing available for fans who want to subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV. The first one is for subscribers who are already part of YouTube TV, while the other is for non-YouTube TV subscribers who sign up through Primetime Channels.
YouTube TV subscribers can get the basic package with all live games at a discounted price of $249 during presale and $349 outside presale. Fans using this option will have to pay an additional $40 if they want RedZone channel access for a total price of $289 during presale and $389 outside presale.
On the other hand, non-YouTube TV subscribers who opt for Primetime Channels can pre-purchase the package at a subsidized rate of $349, which goes up to $449 after presale. Fans who want access to both NFL Sunday Ticket and RedZone Channels will pay $489 after sales start.
No Single Game or Team Package Available Yet
Though there is no strategy yet in place for buying individual team or game tickets on YouTube, this feature may be introduced in future if it proves feasible financially.
Price Comparison with DirectTV’s Last Season Pricing
YouTube’s pricing structure is relatively competitive when compared with DirectTV’s last season’s price. DirectTV charged between $300 and $400 for Sunday Ticket bundled with the satellite carrier’s version of RedZone. YouTube Tv, on the other hand, charges a base price of $249 during presale and $349 outside presale without RedZone and $289 during presale and $389 outside presale with the addition of RedZone.
Multiple Features to Enhance NFL Sunday Ticket Experience
YouTube is adding many features to the NFL Sunday Ticket package to enhance fan experience. These features would enable subscribers to access personalized recommendations along with easy viewing options for up to four live games simultaneously.
Sitting at Home Made Easy
Earlier, fans had to have access to a satellite dish for the delivery of NFL Sunday Ticket, but there are no restrictions now on choosing an online product. YouTube TV subscribers can now access it conveniently from home without satellite installation.
The Launch Date
The launch date for NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV coincides with the start of the 2023 NFL season. Subscribers will be able to map out their favourite games as early as May after the NFL schedule is announced officially.
No Free Trial Available Unlike DirecTV
For the first time in many years, Sunday Ticket will not be offered with a free trial period by YouTube TV like DirecTV did previously.
YouTube TV Edges out Competitors in Bidding War
Multiple streaming services were competing against each other when DirectTV chose not to renew its deal for carrying Sunday Ticket last year. Eventually, YouTube TV turned out to be successful in winning this bidding war after offering a reported 2 billion per year over seven years.
YouTube successfully acquired its place among several providers of live TV streaming covering both local and cable channel offerings by adding NFL Sunday Ticket service. This development implies that YouTube TV is positioning itself as a feasible option for sports-loving households in the United States.
