YouTube has officially announced the pricing details for its exclusive NFL Sunday Ticket package, which will be available to subscribers starting in the 2023 season. The platform won the rights to stream outof-market games from DirecTV for a whopping $2 billion per year over seven years. The move comes as YouTube looks to strengthen its position in the crowded streaming market.
YouTube TV subscribers can avail themselves of an early bird discount if they sign up before June 6, paying $249 for the basic package and $289 if they include RedZone in their subscription. After June 6, the cost of the basic package rises to $349, and with RedZone, it’s priced at $389.
Those who aren’t subscribed to YouTube TV but want to enjoy NFL Sunday Ticket will have to pay more than subscribers. If purchased by June 6, the basic package costs $349, while the package with RedZone costs $389. After June 6, prices increase to $449 and $489, respectively.
The NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV offers an excellent viewing experience with a focus on simplicity and easy-to-understand pricing. Subscribers can watch all out-of-market regular-season games that air each Sunday on both Fox and CBS. Additionally, they will have access to NFL’s own RedZone Channel.
Users can also purchase a RedZone subscription during the season for just $10.99 per month. Other perks of subscribing to NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV include personalized recommendations, unlimited DVR storage options, key plays’ choice combinations, NFL fantasy data, realtime stats, and “hide spoilers” settings.
Primetime Channels feature four-game views and key plays for those who want to keep track of multiple games. YouTube plans to integrate shopping and behind-the-scenes content on game days.
Previously, NFL Sunday Ticket required a satellite dish, but its availability on YouTube TV means that there are no device restrictions. Likewise, users can buy Sunday Ticket as a standalone subscription without having a YouTube TV subscription.
Starting with the kickoff of the 2023 season on Sept. 10, subscribers will be able to plan their viewing as they would have access to the NFL schedule posted in May. YouTube is also conducting research on offering single team or single game packages.
One thing that separates YouTube from its competitor DirecTV is that YouTube will not follow Direct TV’s practice of giving away subscriptions for free to induce satellite signups.
