NXT continued to build momentum for its two-night event “Stand & Deliver” with a number of impressive matches and segments on its latest episode.
In the opening segment, Roxanne Perez had a heart-to-heart conversation with legendary wrestler Shawn Michaels. Perez revealed she was struggling with anxiety ahead of her big match at “Stand & Deliver”. Michaels offered words of encouragement and reminded her that she belonged in the ring with the best.
In an exciting matchup, Elektra Lopez dominated Valentina Feroz by executing her signature move, the Elektra Shock sitout powerbomb. The crowd was impressed by Lopez’s athleticism and tenacity as she made quick work of Feroz.
Eddy Thorpe, formerly known as Karl Fredericks in New Japan, made his NXT debut in style against Myles Borne. Thorpe impressed the audience with his strength and agility. He won the match decisively with a twisting neckbreaker.
Sol Ruca, Indi Hartwell, and Ivy Nile competed in a high-stakes triple threat match for the final spot in the Women’s Championship ladder match at “Stand & Deliver”. In a closely contested affair, Hartwell emerged victorious, securing her place in an already stacked field of competitors.
Gallus was interviewed ahead of their upcoming tag team championship defense against multiple teams. The trio was confident about their chances but acknowledged that it would be a tough challenge against all comers.
Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen faced off against Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo in an entertaining match. Kiana James, who had been watching from ringside, interfered and stunned everyone by kissing Jensen after the match. Briggs and Henley were visibly disturbed.
Grayson Waller taunted Johnny Gargano in a backstage segment ahead of their upcoming match at “Stand & Deliver”. Meanwhile, a Prime Target segment featuring Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes hyped up their matchup and showcased their promo skills.
Commentator Vic promoted the upcoming “Stand & Deliver” card as an employment program rather than just a wrestling event. He highlighted the opportunities for young talent to showcase their skills on a big stage and potentially earn contracts with WWE.
Lastly, Pretty Deadly appeared to promote the two tag team championship matches at “Stand & Deliver”. The duo talked up the importance of holding titles in NXT and expressed confidence that they would soon be adding gold to their resume.
Overall, this week’s NXT was action-packed and featured several standout moments that helped build anticipation for “Stand & Deliver”. Fans will surely be looking forward to what promises to be an epic two-night event.
