The Sacramento Kings won their first playoff game in almost 17 years with an incredible performance against the Golden State Warriors. De’Aaron Fox, the King’s point guard, propelled his team with a 38-point haul, while Stephen Curry struggled despite a pre-game shooting show. The Kings celebrated the win with a close scoreline of 110-107.
Fox was the star player for the Kings, scoring 15 points in the final quarter to secure the win. He made four three-pointers and was pivotal in executing smooth passing and offensive moves. While Klay Thompson pitched in for the Warriors with 21 points, his team fell short against an electric performance from Fox.
The game-winning shot from Curry missed the mark by inches, with Golden State fans left disappointed by their star player’s failure to lead his team to victory. Andrew Wiggins also missed an opportunity to win before Malik Monk punished the Warriors with two free-throws, sealing the win for the Kings.
Kings center Domantas Sabonis was crucial in executing a strict defense strategy that kept Golden State on their toes throughout the game. He notched up a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds while playing alongside Fox and Marvin Bagley III.
In other NBA playoff events, Jalen Brunson helped the New York Knicks secure a win against Cleveland Cavaliers despite Donovan Mitchell’s impact on proceedings. Meanwhile, Jaylen Brown scored 29 points for Boston Celtics as they defeated Atlanta Hawks 112-99. James Harden also underlined his importance for Philadelphia 76ers in their matchup against Brooklyn Nets, scoring seven triples with 13 assists.
Steph Curry, star guard and lead scorer for the Golden State Warriors, wore a full sleeve on his left arm during Saturday’s playoff game against the Sacramento Kings. curry suffered a left shoulder injury in December last year, missing out on eleven games before returning to the game. He donned the shooting sleeve to provide support and keep his shoulder warm, allowing him to feel composed and strengthen his shoulder for better gameplay.
The sleeve had no adverse effect on his performance as Curry averaged 29 points on .488/.421/.911 shooting splits once he got back into the team. The sleeve is now a permanent fixture in Curry’s uniform for many games.
Despite being the sixth seed in the Western Conference, Golden State still remains underdogs against Sacramento Kings but will look to retake the initiative in their next game.
