The two leaders signed two joint statements on deepening comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination and pre-2030 development plan on priorities in China-Russia economic cooperation.
The two countries reaffirmed their support for each other on issues concerning each other’s core interests and their joint resistance against external forces interfering in internal affairs. Both leaders stressed the need to maintain high-level trust between the two countries as it provides a strong political guarantee for bettering China-Russia relations.
Mediation Proposal for Ukraine Crisis
The state visit also highlighted Xi’s proposal to act as a mediator in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Putin expressed positive response towards this proposal, supporting China’s efforts in promoting dialogue and consultation towards resolving the crisis peacefully.
