King Charles Declines A Burger King Crown During German Visit Ahead Of Formal Coronation

King Charles and Queen Camilla’s first overseas visit of the new reign brought them to Germany where they greeted well-wishers in Berlin. During their walkabout, a fan offered a Burger King crown to the King, which was declined by him. This gesture gained much attention as it happened ahead of his formal coronation in May. The coronation ceremony is set to reflect the monarch’s role today and adhere to longstanding traditions and pageantry with the Archbishop of Canterbury conducting the service.

King Charles’ Speech To The Bundestag In Berlin And His Attempt To Renew The UK-Germany Bond Post-Brexit

King Charles addressed the Bundestag in Berlin during his visit to Germany before his coronation where he spoke about renewing the friendship between the UK and Germany. The monarch’s speech celebrated cultural commonalities and joint ventures past and present between the two countries. He acknowledged the role played by his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in the reconciliation process that brought the two countries together after World War II. While he did not mention Brexit or the EU in his speech, he thanked the German people for their condolences on the death of his mother.

King Charles spoke about shared leadership of Anglo-German offshore wind power production and material and financial support for Ukraine’s defensive war against Russia. The German President remarked that it was a strong European gesture by King Charles to visit Germany before his coronation. A gala dinner hosted by President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Bellevue Palace was attended by around 120 guests, including former chancellor Angela Merkel and other key cabinet ministers.

Some members of Germany’s parliament complained that it was inappropriate for the country’s highest democratic body to “bow” in front of a monarch. After his speech, King Charles visited a refugee shelter at Berlin’s former Tegel airport before heading to the countryside to meet soldiers from the German-British Amphibious Engineer Battalion 130 and visit Brodowin. An eco-village, where farmers use homeopathic remedies to work their land and treat their livestock.

King Charles III’s Visit To An Organic Farm In Germany

King Charles III’s visit to an organic farm in Germany was with the intention of helping make a cheese with a crown imprint, aptly called Brodowin King. The cheese is infused with carrot juice to get an orange color and sweetness, similar to British cheddar. The farmer walked the King through the cheesemaking process, which involved pouring the cheese mixture into a mold and smoothing it out.

The farm, Brodowin, is an organic farm that produces various organic products according to strict organic standards. Almost all of its electricity is generated through a solar energy system. While visiting the farm, the King met with young farming trainees and went on a tour of the property.

To mark his upcoming coronation, the farm’s pastry chef created a white chocolate cake with sugar icing gems in the shape of the crown that will be placed on the King’s head during his formal coronation ceremony. The cake is of the perfect size, so King Charles could put it on right away.

The visit to Brodowin farm was an honor for the farmer and also made a statement for organic farming and sustainability ideals. These causes are close to King Charles’ heart, and he has been known to champion them throughout his reign as Prince of Wales.

King Charles’ visit to Germany marks just one example of how he plans to reign differently from his mother Queen Elizabeth II. It will be interesting to see how he continues to engage with world leaders and make an impact in issues related to sustainability and environmentalism.
